First latino on the blog I am really happy to welcome Daniel, and I would like to take this opportunity to apologize to any spanish native speaker, but the goal here is to reach the bigger number of rock art lovers around the world and give the artists the chance of being discovered, this is the reason why this interview is in english.

Hello, of course as every Crewk interview, first question: what are we listening to when we come to visit you?

Punk rock, hxc punk, ska , oi!

Can you tell us more about yourself, who are you, where are you from, what do you do?

I am originally from Venezuela, mi name is Daniel Gavotti. I love my family, my girlfriend,friends & beers.

When did you start drawing?

As a kid, like everyone else, draw by hand the result is the same, .. very bad

Did you follow any course or did you improve by drawing in the margins of your schoolbooks?

I studied graphic design school in the Prodiseño in Caracas Venezuela.

Today are you living from your art, or do you do something else for a living ?

Jeje no, I've worked in places with unpleasant projects, today.. freelance work

Are you collaborating with magazines/fanzines, regularly?

Not really regularly, I have been invited to work in magazines and books, is a good way to get free and meet other artists

Where does your influence come from? Is there any artists/graphists you particularly like, what are your influences?

Aidan Hughes, 80s punk flyers , coop ..

What are the principal steps in your work ?

some concept, and vectors!

Do you do everything by hand or on computer?

computer, is my crutch

How long does it take you to do a poster?

I've played to a flyer from one day to another, after a working day of 8 hours, 4 to 6 hours in the most extreme case

You have a very distinctive style, are you doing only what you feel like or if tomorrow somebody asks you an oil painting with horses running out of water with a sunset backdrop, is it a problem or are you up for it ?

For which band have you already worked for?

for Venezuelan bands , reciclaje, los javelin, los calvos, zikoticos armandos, nods, accion directa, 7 balazos, udska ,etc (punk, hxc, surf, ska scene..) and collective simpl3 (electronic music)

For which band would you love to work?

Evil conduct, skinflicks, non servium, d.r.i, bad manners, skarface,..

Do you choose the artists yourself?

mostly assigned.

What is the most difficult part in designing a poster ?

TIME!! and using type

Do you think you are part of a "Graphic Scene", if so who else ?

I would be the "scene" to survive away from the commercial interest of the moment
